A Brief History
An abandoned gas station in Petaluma, California, was the humble birthplace for what is now a successful family of drive-thru service centers spanning four western states.
Founder and CEO, Larry Dahl, traces Oilstop’s roots to an independent car wash he opened in Medford, Oregon in 1978. Six years later, in 1984, his operations expanded to include an oil change shop. Before long, Larry recognized that his Guests were overwhelmingly thankful for the personal attention and reliable service they received. Their loyalty inspired him to find markets to expand his operations in order to share a business philosophy that is often missing in today’s fast-paced world: good old fashioned service.
The Oilstop Philosophy
Larry communicates that business philosophy to each and every Oilstop employee in simple terms: “We will serve people with excellence, humbly, with a servant’s heart.” By following that basic rule, Oilstop sets itself apart from all other oil change services. The Guest’s needs come first, which means a level of honesty and integrity that is obvious in everything we do. Our expert knowledge of automotive care is shared with you for your benefit, never to make you feel less qualified to make decisions, or to pressure you into buying services you don’t truly need.
